Modwriter's Coin Collection

During the Pandemic of 2020, I pulled out the old cigar box that I had been saving coins in for four decades and so began my interest in learning how to collect coins. The West Point minted National Park quarters were very popular on the internet and I was able to find one in my change jar. The hunt was on! I started going to my bank for rolls of quarters to search. During a month or two of coin roll hunting, I also learned about coin grading and third party coin grading. I became a PCGS member and submitted the best, or so I thought, twenty coins for grading. The coins came back graded from XF45 to MS66. Yes, I was a bit disapointed, thought for sure I had a few MS70 coins. I had also learned about Great Collections coin auctions and was able to win MS7O graded coins. Sadly, my wife and I separated and divorced, which led to selling most of my coin collection to local coin shops. I put away what was left of my collection for a couple of months while I got my head straight. I was not sure that I would ever get back to coin collecting again. This last spring, I started back again and enjoying the hobby again more than ever. -Modwriter- 9/8/2021
