RIC 884 VAR. (UNLISTED WITH BONO IMP PROBO INVICT AVG LEGEND AND PARMA SHIELD)
COLLECTION NO. 78

Extremely rare and desirable obverse legend with BONO ("bonus = "good") and Invictvs ("invincible") titles.

Probus was the only roman emperor to use the highly unusual BONUS title in the whole roman coinage!

The INVICTVS title was first introduced in regular coinage by Aurelian. Probus later borrowed the Invictvs title and used it in rare emissions struck at Siscia, Ticinum and Serdica mints.

Very rare and desirable military bust with small, round Parma shield. In Probus' coinage Parma shields were only struck in the mints of Ticinum, Siscia, Serdica and Cyzicus. While this type of shield is rare on Siscia and Serdica coins it is extremely rare on Ticinum and Cyzicus coins.

Beautiful example with most silvering remaining!

Esktremalnie rzadka i pożądana tytulatura z wyjątkowym tytułem BONO ("bonus" - "dobry").
