The moneyer, who took the name D. Postumius Albinius Bruti f. after his adoption, was in the innermost circle of Caesar and was intended as his heir, if Octavian could not have done it. He joined the conspirators against Caesar and persuaded him, against all prophecy, to go to the Curia on the Ides of March.
