Counterfeit pieces made at the Suceava mint in Romania exist. These coins were made some time in the 17th century, and for many forgeries, the coins have fictitious dates, including: "15", "18", "55", "58", "60", "61", "155", "158", and "185". While the crudeness of the counterfeits may vary, they have a much more coppery appearance than the real ones. Even so, the forgeries are still very collectable, and sometimes worth more than the real pieces.
