Hybrid of Saxon and Bavarian denarius

OBVERSE: The obverse imitating Bavarian chapel denarius. In the inscription characters attempting to imitate the letters.

REVERSE: The side with the cross is in style of Saxon cross denarius (chavalier cross).  Individual letters or characters attempting to imitate the letters visible.

NOTE: In opinion prof. M. Bogucki (2012, p. 102) imitations-hybrids combining Bavarian designs with others are found in all districts. Most of them have been found in the treasures of central and eastern Greater Poland and in Mazovia, although they also occur in Pomerania, Silesia and Lesser Poland . Such a spread of coins combining different patterns indicates their local, Polish origin. On the basis of the finds they can be generally dated to the 2nd and 3rd quarter of the 11th c.
