Caesar Vespasianus Augustus
"Mars" was the god of war and also a protector of agriculture. He was the father of Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of Rome. In early Rome, Mars held the second position after Jupiter and was the most prominent military deity in the religion of the Roman army. Most of his festivals were celebrated in March, the month named after him (Latin: Martius), and in October, marking the beginning and end of the military and agricultural seasons.
However, Vespasian was undoubtedly an emperor focused on peace rather than war. He devoted more attention to administration than to warfare. He replenished the ranks of the equestrian and senatorial orders by removing the unworthy and appointing deserving individuals, including those from distant provinces. His goal was to ensure that even those living outside Rome felt fully integrated into the Empire.
