Gaius Vibius Afinius Gallus Veldumnianus Volusianus

"Temple of Juno" Volusianus was the son of Emperor Trebonianus Gallus. In 251 CE, after Hostilian died due to a plague, Volusianus took his place as co-emperor alongside his father, receiving the title of Augustus. The Roman borders in the East faced incursions by the Persians, while the northern front was embroiled in conflict with the Goths. Although the Goths invaded Lower Moesia, they were ultimately defeated by the forces of Aemilian. Grateful soldiers proclaimed Aemilian emperor, and he marched swiftly toward Rome. Trebonianus Gallus and Volusianus led their troops to confront the usurper. However, fearing Aemilian's determination and swift advances, their own soldiers turned against them and killed both Trebonianus and Volusianus.

The Temple of Juno depicted on the coin's reverse likely stood on the Campus Martius.
