BITHYNIA, Nicaea. Maximinus I. AD 235-238. Æ Assarion (24mm, 7.06 g, 1h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / River-god Sagaris reclining left, holding reed, elbow resting on urn from which water flows; c/m: Nike standing right, holding wreath and palm, within oval incuse. RG –; RPC VI Online 3270; SNG von Aulock 637. For c/m: Howgego 255. Brown patina with earthen deposits, light roughness. VF. Extremely rare, only one recorded in RPC, possibly the second known.
