This bank note was issued to commemorate 25 years of Indonesian development, i.e., the success of the first long-term 25-year development period, beginning in 1969 and ending in 1994. Front: President Soeharto (resigned in 1988) as the Father of Indonesian Development with the representation of various sectoral developments (culture, agriculture, infrastructure, education and chemical industry) in the background. Back: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and a Garuda Indonesia Boeing 747-400 airplane taking off, illustrating that the Indonesian development is entering the process of taking off.

In the center, the coat of arms of the Isle of Man, three legs (triskelion) conjoined on a red shield, surmounted by a crown and encircled with the motto, Quocunque Jeceris Stabit . Back: Tynwald Hill, which is believed to have been a meeting place for the Celtic midsummer assembly, hence the Celtic cross representing the sun god, Lugh. Tynwald, the Manx parliament, is the oldest parliament in continuous existence in the world.

The liberation of Kuwait was achieved by the 34 countries of the United Nations sponsored Allied Coalition, all named on the front of the note. Under the French Mandate, on November 11th, 1943, Rashaya witnessed the arrest and the imprisonment of the Lebanese national leaders in its citadel by the Free French troops. Following the national and international pressure, on November 22nd, 1943, the prisoners were released and that day was declared the Lebanese Independence Day. At right, a stylized flag of Lebanon. Back: The signing ceremony in which Maldives officially gained independence on July 26th,1965 is depicted. It signifies the peaceful approach taken by the country in obtaining independence. The surrounding design signifies the uniqueness, craftsmanship, heritage and Islamic customs retained by Maldivians over the centuries.
