Maya Ruiz-Picasso, the exhibition at the Picasso Museum
From 19 April 2022 to 1 January 2023, the Picasso Museum will devote an exhibition entitled "Maya Ruiz-Picasso, daughter of Pablo" to the daughter of the artist of the same name.
An unprecedented dive into the intimacy of Pablo Picasso... The exhibition retraces part of the artist's life and rereads some of his work through the prism of his relationship with his daughter, born in 1935 from his passionate relationship with Marie-Thérèse Walter.
The period from 1938 to 1939 was a fruitful one for the artist, who dedicated more than 14 portraits to his daughter. This was Picasso's favourite subject at the time. Some of them are exhibited here. A painting that emphasises "the complicity between father and daughter" and "how Maya's presence cultivated and strengthened the appeal of the artist's childhood". Picasso reveals himself through paintings, sculptures, silhouettes and other correspondence, letters, poems and mementos of personal effects.
It was also the occasion to celebrate the arrival of 9 masterpieces, six paintings, nine sculptures and some sketchbooks thanks to a donation system authorised to pay inheritance tax since 1968. These 9 works form the core of the chronological tour of this exhibition.

The Lafayette Anticipations Foundation is devoting an exhibition to the Chinese artist Xinyi Cheng, Seen Through Others, from 23 March to 28 May 2022. An exhibition that questions "the complexity of emotions, desires and relationships that permeate modern life".
A unique dive into the world of the artist Xinyi Cheng... This is what the Lafayette Anticipations Foundation is offering with the opening of Seen Through Others, which runs from 23 March to 28 May 2022. An exhibition that focuses on "the complexity of emotions, desires and relationships that permeate contemporary life", using "light and colour" to express "the intensity of feelings, reveries and presences that make up our daily experience of the world".
An artist attached to the representation of characters, resonating here as "unexpected tributes to the moderns - Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas or Caillebotte", and to others, such as Goya (Saturn devouring one of his children), Cézanne (for his still lifes), and many others. A total of 30 works await contemporary art collectors. Created between 2016 and 2021, the works will be hung in a very original way. Cohle Gallery announces the return of Ador with his second solo exhibition, Olibrius
Cohle Gallery is delighted to announce the return of Ador in April with his second solo exhibition, Olibrius. The artist presents his world full of caricatures, humour and irony. This second exhibition of the artist's work will take place from 7 to 30 April 2022 with an opening on Thursday 7 April from 6 to 9 pm and a book signing on Saturday 9 April from 4 to 7 pm. Ador often deals with complex or current political issues in his detailed style, which is both playful and dark. Ador's new book will be published to accompany the exhibition. Both act as retrospectives, ultimately bringing together all his characters. We are free to invent our own story through his creations.
This eagerly awaited exhibition traces the 18 years of painting by this French artist. Based in Nantes, he has already had multiple exhibitions around the world including a solo show at the Cohle Gallery in March 2020 entitled "Jaune et Joli". Two years later, he is back with Olibrius.
The word 'olibrius', chosen as the title for both the exhibition and his book, is defined as 'the individual who makes a nuisance of himself'. Another form of self-mockery! The artist tends to illustrate his commitment to the viewer: through the paintings found in the gallery or the walls found in the street. In his work, he tells stories that can challenge or surprise, please or displease.
This exhibition is the first time that all of Ador's characters have been brought together. They run around, inventing chaotic and fascinating scenes. These little characters come out of fairy tales, but suddenly find themselves facing reality.
Ador is constantly interested in the world around him. He finds inspiration in current events, cultural phenomena and the French language.
Dive into this world and make your own opinion about his artistic work!
Useful information:
Dates: 7 April 2022 to 30 April 2022
Location: Cohle Gallery. 17 Rue Victor Massé. 75009 Paris 9

His work is characterised by an artistic syncretism mixing western and eastern techniques. His creations carry a universal message of inner peace and love. At a young age, Bang Hai Ja was struck by the beauty of nature, especially the image of sunlight reflecting on Korean ochre stone, resulting in vibrant and nuanced colours. Since then, she has constantly sought to capture the light and transcribe it into her work.
Through this major exhibition, which brings together a large number of her paintings, both old and new, the Korean Cultural Centre pays tribute to a unique artist whose flamboyant works are the result of an ingenious blend of East and West.
