NOTE: One of the first, rare Polish coins, issued with very high probability by the royal mint, ranked among the lighter denarii of Bolesław I Chrobry. Dated circa 1015. A type of denarius described relatively recently by, among others, Professor Mateusz Bogucki. Only about 20 specimens were known to the author of the publication, the vast majority of which have found their way into public collections.
Obverse: Roof of the church, below it the inscription +JIVA, in the rim an imitation of a legend. Representation of the obverse typical for Bavarian coins from the turn of the 10th and 11th century.
Reverse: Straight cross with widened ends, in the fields O-D-O-D, in the rim an imitation of a legend. Representation of the reverse typical for Saxon coins of OAP type.
NOTE: One of the finest specimens of its type to appear on the domestic auction market. Excellent presentation, very well struck and preserved.Typical for the issue of the period, slight wavy disc and tarnish, remnants of the mint gloss, characteristic pecks.
