Probus, 276-282. Antoninianus (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.30 g, 12 h), Siscia, 277-278. IMP C M AVR PROBVS P F AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Probus to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and shield, decorated with winged horse (or griffin) springing left, on his left. Rev. VIRTVS PROBI AVG / XXIQ Mars advancing right, holding spear in his right hand and trophy over his left shoulder. Alföldi 96/223. Cohen 899 var. Lanz 120 (2004), 543 (same obverse die). RIC 810 var. (no shield decoration). A very rare variety. Slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
