The LVCA ROMANO Collection

Sestertius of Marcus Aurelius from 168/169 AD. I also have a FORT RED type of Verus (as a part of this story). It may be noted that Fortuna Redux did a partial job. Lucius and Marcus returned to Rome, but Verus fell ill and died shortly after that. It is possible that it was caused by Variola vera, or smallpox, which raged in the Empire during the famous epidemic called the Antonine Plague. PS I love that portrait of the Emperor.
