"Filia – Daughter" Flavia Julia Titi was the only daughter of Emperor Titus Flavius. Vespasian, aiming to strengthen the dynasty, considered marrying his granddaughter to his son Domitian. However, Domitian chose another wife, Domitia Longina, whose marriage also bolstered the Flavian position.
It is unclear how or exactly when Julia became the lover of her uncle, now Emperor Domitian. Some suggest it occurred after the death of her husband, Titus Sabinus. She then lived in the palace alongside Domitian’s wife. Julia died very young, at just under 27 years old. Historians attribute her death to complications from an abortion, said to have been Domitian’s child.
Interestingly, the caretaker of the Flavian lineage reportedly mixed Domitian’s ashes with Julia’s after his death.
