AE Sestertius of Emperor Nerva minted in Rome 97 AD. It so happens that both of Nerva's sesterces that I have fallen in love with in recent years have the same reverse and a symbolically different obverse. However, they have completely different portraits (this one is slightly more idealized, Nerva is similar in my opinion to the deified Augustus from the coins of Tiberius or the later emperors from the Julio-Claudian dynasty (oc excluding Nero). The charm of the beautiful details is added by the patina, which Italians usually call leather patina.

🔸34,5/34mm / 27,48g
🔸OBV: IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P COS III P P, Head of Nerva, laureate, right;
🔸REV: LIBERTAS PVBLICA S C, Libertas, draped, standing left, holding pileus in right hand and short sceptre, pointing up slightly to right, in left hand;
🔸RIC 86

Interestingly, although I do not have a confirmed provenance for this piece, the coin was supposed to be bought in 1965, so it may have been calmly having the rest for almost 50 years, which theoretically could be confirmed by the patina.
