This Silver 2-coin set from the Isle of Man pays tribute to China’s Terracotta Army. Created thousands of years ago in Xian, China, this collection of sculptures is one of the marvels of the ancient world. More than 8,000 life-size soldiers, horses and other amazing figures were sculpted to guard the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, in the afterlife.
The two stunning Silver coins depict how a terracotta soldier and horse were constructed over 2,000 years ago. The hole in the center pays tribute to the Chinese coins that circulated at the time the Terracotta Army was originally assembled; these were referred to as Banliang Coins.
Both coins are sealed in protective capsules and are accompanied by a replica of “The General” terracotta sculpture. Actual Silver weight is 1.818 oz. This set comes to you in a case with the certificate of authenticity from the Pobjoy Mint.
