Publia Fulvia Plautilla Augusta

"Damnatio Memoriae" Forced into marriage, Caracalla displayed open disdain for his wife and overt hatred for his father-in-law, Fulvius Plautianus, the prefect of the Praetorian Guard and a close confidant of his father. Caracalla issued murderous threats against both of them. This hostility was supported by his mother, Julia Domna, who was alarmed by the excessive influence and ambitions of the imperial favorite.

In 205 CE, Plautianus was accused by Caracalla of plotting against the emperor and his sons. He was executed in the emperor's presence. His property was confiscated, his memory condemned to damnatio memoriae, and his closest associates were persecuted. Caracalla divorced Plautilla, who was also subjected to damnatio memoriae, exiled to Sicily, and eventually executed.
