The "AVG" on the obverse is a abbreviation of Augur, not Augustus.

Legion XI:

This legion is unknown, since Octavian also had a legion of the same number. The latter was created by Caesar in 58 BC in order to prepare for the invasion of Gaul. It was nicknamed "Claudia" and remained in service until the fifth century AD. Antony's 11th Legion had a shorter life; created by the Triumvir in the 30's, it was disbanded after Actium.
