Commemorative issue:
This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on 10th February 1840. It was designed and executed in 1840 by Ferdinand Helfricht, medallist to the Court at Gotha. (Saxe-Coburg-Gotha).
Obverse:
Conjoined busts facing left, of Queen Victoria with a wreath of roses in her hair, and the Prince Albert bare head. Latin legend around and engraver's name under the truncation.
Lettering:
❃ VICTORIA REGINA MAGNAE BRITANNIAE ✜ ALBERTUS. DUX SAXONIAE
HELFRICHT F.
Reverse:
The Royal couple in a wedding car drawn and crowned by winged figures and cherubs, the scene is represented in the antique style. Surrounded by a latin legend and the date below.

Translation: Happy are those whom he joins his love / Day 10 February 1840
