In 1430, Vlad II was admitted to the Order of the Dragon by Emperor Sigismund in Nuremberg. Following this occasion, Vlad II adopted the name Dracul (dragon) and issued coins showing a dragon.
Vlad II Dracul was the father of Vlad III Dracula
