Obverse:
King David (or St Paul) kneeling, playing the harp, eyes raised to heaven; a tree on the right. Latin legend around and the initials of the engraver at the exergue.

Lettering: DOMINO QVO NIAMBO : CONFITE - MINI / H • K • 

Translation: Confess to the Lord to whom I am bound.

Engraver: Hans Krauwinckel II (1586-1635).

Reverse:
An angel standing over a globe, holding a winged hour glass in one hand and a skull in the other, with a cross and an anchor at his feet. Legend around.

Lettering:
DVM SPIRO FERO ET SPERO
 
Translation: While I breathe I bear and hope. (quote attributed to Cicero).

Comments:
Hans Krauwinckel and his son of the same name struck a great deal of beautiful tokens over the period of their lifetimes in the late renaissance period.
While the pieces are not coins, they are a form of tokens or jetons known as 'Rechenpfennige', or 'counting money', implying that they were used in place of valuable coins to assist in accounting.
They were struck by:
Hans Krauwinckel I (from 1562 to 1586).
Damian Krauwinckel, Hans' brother (from 1543 to 1581).
Hans Krauwinckel II, Hans' son (from 1586 to 1635).
