P.LENT P.F L.N Q

Rome, 74 BC (70 BC following Michael Harlan)

Obverse: Bearded head usually identified as Hercules. (This is questionable because none of the iconography which identifies Hercules is present. The head seem to have more in common with the male head on Oscan denarii issued in Spain), behind Q SC

Revers: Bearded male figure usually identified as Genius Populi Romani (questionable possibly also Oscan) sitting on a curule chair facing forward, head veiled, naked to the waist, holding cornucopia in right hand and scepter in left hand. His right food resting on an orb of the world, under left foot unidentified object (stool?). Victory flying, placing wreath on head. Possibly a reference to the Sartorian war in Spain. Left I.P LENT PF, right L.N
