Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. Dupondius (Bronze, 30 mm, 20.39 g, 9 h), Lugdunum (as Copia), circa 36 BC. IMP CAESAR DIVI F DIVI IVLI Laureate head of Divus Julius Caesar, on the left, and bare head of Octavian, on the right; between them, palm frond. Rev. COPIA Prow decorated with dolphin to right; above, star on globe and meta. Giard 7. RPC I 515. SNG Copenhagen 689. An unusually attractive example of this usually poorly struck issue, perfectly centered and with two very attractive portraits. Minor deposits and with some corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
