Comments:
Muntoni lists over 120 varieties of this typology, sometimes differing only in the shape of the coat of arms or in minimal details in the depiction of the reverse, where the figure of St. Apollinaris becomes almost stylised. It is plausible to hypothesize that both for the obverse and for the On the other hand, there has been a progressive artistic deterioration of the engravings, and therefore the first dies are the most elaborate ones.
