Marcia Otacilia Severa Augusta

"Concordia Augustorum" Marcia Otacilia Severa was the wife of the Roman Emperor Philip the Arab. She was the daughter of the governor Severianus (or Severus) and the mother of Julius Philippus, the designated heir who was elevated to co-ruler alongside his father in 247 CE.

In addition to holding the title of Augusta, she bore the honorary titles "Mother of the Military Camps" and "Mother of the Senate and the Fatherland." Between 244 and 249 CE, coins were minted in her name, often bearing the inscription MARCIA OTACILIA SEVERA AVGVSTA.
