Mn. Acilius Glabrio Denarius

Rome, 50 BC

Avers: Head of Salus with wreath and small bun in the back bedecked with jewels to the right, behind SALVTIS.

Below Salus face Grafitti: "IIR"

Revers: Valetudo right standing with serpent, leaning on column. Around MN ACILIVS, I.II VIR VALETV.

Left of Valetudo Graffiti ≈:"CILO" C(h)ilo, by the way, is a fairly famous cognomen (from a politician mid 40s BCE: Flaminius Chilo), so the graffito could date to that period, i.e., roughly contemporary with the coin itself.

Sear 412, Crawford 442/1, Sydenham 922

Die estimation by Crawford: Obvers 651, Revers 723 (This is a huge number of dies, only outbid in this period by the directly following Caesar/Elephant Denarius (443/1, O: 750, R:833)
