Historique:
Alexandre II Zébina prétendait être le fils d'Alexandre Ier. Ptolémée VIII le poussa à se révolter contre Démétrius II Nicator. Démétrius fut vaincu près de Damas et laissa momentanément Alexandre II l'unique maître d'Antioche, mais il ne tarda pas à se quereller avec Ptolémée. Ce dernier se rapprocha alors d'Antiochus VIII et lui offrit sa fille Cléopâtre Tryphème en mariage. Abandonné de tous, Alexandre est finalement emprisonné et vendu à Antiochus VIII qui le fit exécuter en 123 avant J.-C.
