Holed Coins

Incomplete album. This is a work in progress! I will add photos of my holed coins gradually, as I find the time to photograph them all.
“Holey” Coin Collection
From the year 2000 until 2013, I used to collect coins with holes in them, and put them on my "Holey Coin Vest" and "Holey Gold Hat". These were quite popular when I wore them to shows.
I finally broke up and sold off the collection in 2013, having sold all the gold off the hat when unemployed due to the Recession. Holed or not, there was some very nice material on there, including a gold solidus of the emperor Zeno, which had come from the famous Eliasberg collection. I drilled none of the holes myself. I only used coins that had been holed centuries before, and gave them new use as fashion accessories.
There was nothing dated after 1900 on the vest and hat. The back side of the vest was a (one-a-year) date set of holed US large cents, lacking only 1793, 1795, 1799, and 1804. Even the buttons on the vest were holed Flying Eagle and Indian cents and Shield nickels.
I have started putting holed coins on the old hat again, though it will be a long time (if ever) before I get around to photographing them and posting them all here!
Coins here are presently displayed by denomination and type, then by date.
Alas, I do not know if or when I will ever find the time to complete this project!
