Obv.: DN IVSTINVS PP AVG
Rev.: VICTORI-A AVGGG A
Exergue: COMOB
Weight: 4.34 g
Mint: Rome
Year: 518 - 527 (during the reign of Theoderic, who died in 526 or his successor Athalaric)
The mintmark COMOB instead of CONOB leaves no doubt that the coin was struck ba a western mint. COMOB refers to the western comitatius, i.e. the chancellory of the COMES SACRARVM LARGITIONUM.
The use of the outdated PF (Pater Felix) instead of PP (Per Petuus) and the 8-pointed star suggests that the coin was struck in Rome.
Extremely fine
