1907 mintage data:
There is some discrepancy over the reported mintage data for the 1907 issues. Krause SCWC reports a figure of 14,083,000, Spink SCBC does not list mintage data, Collectors' Coins GB reports a figure of 4,083,418 and Coin Yearbook has 14,083,418. Further to an enquiry made wih the Royal Mint Museum, the following reply was received:
"In the 1907 [Royal Mint] annual report the specific mintage figure for the shilling is not provided, but it does say that £180,000 worth of shillings were produced. It also states that 10,195,240 pieces of the smaller silver denominations were minted (comprising 1s., 6d., and 3d.)"
