Note: Very rare and highly desirable obverse legend DEO ET DOMINO (Deus = "God"; Dominus = "Lord"). Only three Roman emperors: Aurelian, Probus and Carus used such a pompous and pretentious title in their coinage during their lives. While it was not uncommon for the Roman Senate to deify emperors after their death and for successors to issue posthumuos coins celebrating deified, deceased emperors as "diivi" ("godly"), it was highly unusual and exceptional to title an incumbent emperor as "God". The Deo et Domino title was first used by Aurelian. A must have in every serious Roman Empire coin collection.        

Virtually as struck with stunning details and almost full original silvering. Truly spectacular coin!

This example is by far among the few finest known examples of a Probus coin with the iconic Deo et Domino obverse legend!

Bardzo rzadka, poszukiwana i ceniona tytulatura DEO ET DOMINO. Tylko trzech cesarzy rzymskich, w tym Probus, używało tak pompatycznego i pretensjonalnego tytułu - "Boga i Pana" - w swoim mennictwie za swojego życia. Tytuł ten został użyty po raz pierwszy przez Aureliana, a po Probusie tylko przez Karusa. Kultowa tytulatura będąca ozdobą każdej zaawansowanej kolekcji monet rzymskich.     

Wspaniały menniczy egzemplarz, z zachwycającymi detalami i prawie kompletnym srebrzeniem powierzchniowym. Spektakularna moneta!
