Wandering Jew Plant or Tradescantia Zebrina earned it's name by the zebra like pattern on the leaves. It is native to Mexico, Central America and Colombia, it grows in rainforests often on stones in shady areas.
Yes, this plant is very forgiving light wise and water wise as well, it is however a invasive species in some areas therefore be warned it is an avid grower !
