Crawford suggests the L/T series is a product of a subsidiary workshop at Luceria. He rejects the suggestion that the monogram is indicative of an alliance between two mint cities, but leaves the possibility that T may be a moneyer magistrate's mark, or a symbol to separate the issue to be used for a specific purpose.
