Very rare and desirable bust type! Wonderful details, a portrait of the finest style and most original silvering remaining! Provenance: Solidus Numismatik auction no. 7 lot 333 (November 2015). Obverse: radiate, cuirassed and draped bust left, holding spear and shield, seen from back, legend:
IM P PROBVS AVG; Reverse: Emperor riding left, right hand raised, left hand holding sceptre, a captive at foot, legend: ADVENTVS AVG ; In exergue XXIP. Silver, diameter 22-24 mm, weight 3,46 g, axis 11 h. From the collection of a true connoisseur of Probus’ coinage
Bardzo ładny egzemplarz z jednym z rzadszych popiersi. Pięknie zachowane srebrzenie. Nieopisany w RIC typ popiersia dla tej odmiany. Awers: popiersie militarne cesarza z włócznią i tarczą, w koronie promienistej, w lewo, widziany od tyłu, w otoku legenda:
IMP PROBVS AVG; Rewers: Cesarz jadący w lewo, trzyma dłoń w geście pozdrowienia i długie berło, w otoku legenda:
