This one follows a common theme. The first time I saw this design I knew that I had to have one. The delicate engraving on both the obverse and reverse is very captivating. The almost casual knight is very appealing to me.
Obverse: Shield within sprigs, small wreath above, date below
Obverse Legend: CANTON DE VAUD
Reverse: Knight standing beside shield, value below
Reverse Legend: CONFEDERATION SUISSE
Note: Of the 2485 pieces minted 616 pieces were melted in 1851.
