Roman Empire, Tacitus (275-276), Aurelianus, Siscia mint, 5th emission, 1st officina.
Obverse: IMP C M CL TACITVS AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front;
Reverse: VICT-ORIA AVG, Victory running right, holding wreath in right hand and palm against left shoulder, P in exergue;
Notes: The VICTORIA AVG coinage of Tacitus depicting Victory running to the right is very rare and was only used by the first officina at Siscia for the first, second and fifth emissions: they use IMP C M CLA TACITVS AVG, IMP C M CL TACITVS P AVG and IMP C M CL TACITVS AVG as obverse legends, respectively. This coin belongs to the latter, the final emission, and the four known examples are all double die matches. This reverse was also reused by Florian, but in his case it was produced by both the first and the third officina.
