Ferberite (twin)

Here is a wonderful miniature sized twinned crystal of Ferberite. This species was sometimes previously referred to as "Wolframite", which was supposed to be an intermediary species between Ferberite and Hubnerite, but has since been discredited.
This piece features the classic, "butterfly" twinning of Ferberite along the a (100) face.
This piece is a fine quality, sharp, thick, lustrous aesthetic jet-black twin that is displayable from a few angles. It has such a cool and unusual stepped appearance, that is not often seen in this material. it's not completely damage free, but it's very hard to get good twins of Ferberite from any locality. These are definitely the most highly sought after crystal habit from this locality as well. This piece one of the more interesting and unique Ferberite twins that I have seen from Bolivia from a crystallographical standpoint.
