Numerous coins of this type were minted in Saksony. However, there is no doubt that their youngest, dating from the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries, were mass-produced also in Poland. This coin represents type VII, no. 986-987 according to the classification of M. Gumowski. By W. Nakielski minted in Silesia (Wrocław?) in the same beginnings of 12th century, by others authors  in Greater Poland (Gniezno)..

OBVERSE: An irregular knight’s cross. Ornaments in the shape of points and Vs between its arms. Point in the middle of the cross. No pseudo-legend.
