West Slawen (Pomerania? Poland?) imitation of OAP denar.

The weight of the coin suggests it was struck in the first half of the 11th century.

NOTE: Such imitations are found en masse in the Pomeranian and Great Poland areas. The raised edges of the coin are not typical of Pomeranian workshops. Imitations of OAP denarii were very popular in the second decade of the 11th century in Greater Poland. Characteristic notches (punches) visible en masse on the coin prove that it was used in the Baltic region.

OBVERSE: One-sided coin: chapel
