denarius, type III, Cracow mint (about half of 1143-half of 1144)
NOTE: This denarius may be is a continuation of the lion battle motif, but with a new obverse depicting a prince with a pennant and shield. A great rarity in such excellent state of preservation- NGC 5789905-020 MS63.
Obverse: Bust of a duke in front with pennant and shield, in the field to the right a sign (ring), in the rim a pseudolegend
Reverse: Knight with shield and sword fighting a lion, in the field a flower with three branches (symbol of the Tree of Life?)
Silver, diameter 13 mm, weight 0.52 g
