Caesar Nerva Traianus Augustus
Roman Province - Arabia Petraea
"Nabatea" The Nabataeans were a much more advanced society compared to other Arab city-states, as evidenced by structures that predate the Roman era. The Nabataeans maintained close relations with the Romans and, from the time of Augustus, were a client state of the Empire.
After the death of the Nabataean king, Rabbel II Soter, in 106 CE, Emperor Trajan decided to annex Nabatea. Cornelius Palma, the governor of Syria, invaded the Nabataean territories, facing virtually no resistance, and occupied them on March 22, 106 CE. Nabatea was officially incorporated into the Roman Empire, forming the province of Arabia Petraea (modern southern Jordan and northwestern Saudi Arabia), with its capital in Bostra.
