This coin is part of the famous coded Aeqviti series (see the letter "V" in the exergue, which is the 4th letter of the AEQVITI word struck by the 4th officina, i.e. officina "Δ"; Rome used greek numerals for designation of particular officinae), discovered and first published by Alexander Missong in his articale ‘Gleichartig systemisirte Münzreihen unter Kaiser Probus’ (1873).
There were 7 officinae at the Roman mint at that time; each one struck a different reverse with a different letter from the 7-letter AEQVITI code in the exergue. Putting all seven coins together we get the code AEQVITI. the letter "R" stands for Rome; the last letter in the exergue is the number designation of the officina (in greek numerals) and the letter in the middle is the letter of the code: RAA; REB; RQΓ; RVΔ; RIE; RTζ; RIZ

The coded AEQVITI series from Rome is much rarer and more difficult to complete than the coded EQVITI series from the Ticinum mint of the 9th and 10th issues!

RVΔ, która jest czwartą literą słowa AEQVITI wybijaną przez czwartą oficynę, tj. oficynę "Δ"; Rzym stosował litery greckie na oznaczenie numeracji poszczególnych oficyn), odkrytej i po raz pierwszy opublikowanej przez Alexandra Missonga w artykule ‘Gleichartig systemisirte Münzreihen unter Kaiser Probus’, Numismatische Zeitschrift (1873).
W mennicy rzymskiej w czasach Probusa istniało 7 oficyn; każda z nich wybijała inny rewers z inną literą siedmio-literowego kodu AEQVITI w odcinku; zestawiając wszystkie siedem monet razem otrzymujemy kod AEQVITI. Litera "R" w odcinku oznacza mennicę w Rzymie; ostatnia litera w odcinku to oznaczenie numeru oficyny (greckie liczebniki), a litera pośrodku to litera kodu: RAA; REB; RQΓ; RVΔ; RIE; RTζ; RIZ

Seria kodowa AEQVITI z Rzymu jest o wiele rzadsza i trudniejsza do skompletowania niż kodowane serie EQVITI z mennicy w Ticinum z 9 i 10 emisji!
