Publius Septimius Geta

"Victory over the Britons" This type of denarius refers to the successes of Septimius Severus's military campaigns in Caledonia. In 208 CE, Emperor Septimius Severus set out for Britain with an ambitious plan to conquer Caledonia (modern-day Scotland). The ruler arrived there at the head of 40,000 soldiers. Roman forces advanced north into hostile territory. The emperor led the army in the footsteps of Julius Agricola, rebuilding abandoned camps and erecting new fortifications along the way.

Geta and Caracalla accompanied their father in Britain, and when Geta was elevated to Augustus, it marked the first time in the history of the Empire that three emperors ruled simultaneously. Geta primarily stayed in Eboracum (York) and Londinium, serving in an administrative role.
