That’s an interesting piece. Hadrian’s Assarion from Philippopolis in Thrace. Rarer, small bronze with excellent detail of the Traveler’s portrait and Artemis on the reverse, characteristically slightly off-centered.
Initially, due to Artemis' rather muscular torso, I wondered if it was not Apollo or even the Optimus Courier - Hadrian. There are two specimens in RPC online, and my example as 3rd. I will immodestly admit - the best I've ever seen. The coin is leaving my collection due to my desire to specialize more and more in larger imperial coins, but it couldn't be missing here, before the sale.
