SYRIA/LEVANTINE REGION, Uncertain. Circa 3rd century AD. Æ (14 mm, 3.19 g.). Ram leaping left, head reverted / Scales. Previous attribution of this type to the Egyptian Pharaoh Nektanebo is primarily based on a similarity to a gold issue of Egyptian make. While this attribution is still followed by some, more recent finds almost certainly show this to be incorrect. While still rare, it is certainly not Egyptian.
