Sestertius of Lucius Verus from 168 AD. It may be noted that Fortuna Redux did a partial job. Lucius and Marcus returned to Rome, but Verus fell ill and died shortly thereafter. It may have been caused by Variola vera, or smallpox, which raged in the Empire during the famous epidemic called the Antonine Plague.
