In ancient Greek mythology, one figure stands as a timeless symbol of transition and passage — the enigmatic Charon, the ferryman of souls. According to ancient myths, those who have passed away have to cross the rivers Styx and Acheron to reach the underworld. With a lantern in hand, he ushers departed spirits on a one-way journey, their passage shrouded in mystery and awe of the unknown. His fee for carrying the dead across the rivers to the underworld is a coin. On the 1 oz collectible, several gilded coins are depicted in Charon's hand, reminding us that every journey has its price.
