New features to better manage your collections

Reading time 5 min

Over the past two months, you may have noticed some changes on CollecOnline. A few new features are now available:  an optimized way of sharing collections, a brand new collection family to please wine collectors, and an upgraded way to customize your item cards. Continue reading this article to find out more about these features, it will take about 3 minutes of your time.

Customize your item cards

Colleconline App

We have redesigned the custom features system which allows you to create your own lists and fields in addition to those available on CollecOnline. The new system offers increased flexibility and ease of use.

From now on, you have access to a new page called "Item cards parameters" in the left menu. This new page allows you to create different types of characteristics in order to add them to your objects (Text, Number, Date, Unit of measurement, List of values...).

You can choose on which collection thematic to apply your new fields to customize your objects according to your collection’s topic.

If you think that a field would be useful to the whole community, please let us know by contacting us through contact@colleconline.com and we will make it available for all.

A mobile application to manage your collection

CollecOnline Application mobile

It's a small step for Man, but a big step for CollecOnline.

You can now install the CollecOnline App on your smartphone from the Android PlayStore. You will not be disoriented, the mobile application keeps the ergonomics of the website.

If you are satisfied with this App, please leave a comment or a review on the Android PlayStore. This will help us improve the application and your suggestions are precious.

If you're an Apple user, you'll have to wait a little longer before seeing an iOS version in the App Store. Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested though, as we will contact you first hand to test the App.

Inventory your wine collections

vins

CollecOnline welcomes a new kind of collector: wine collectors. We have dedicated an article to this subject.

We have worked on a new tree structure to improve the referencing system of wines on our platform. It took us almost a month to come up with this pristine collection, just enough to become real wine experts. In order to deliver the best, we collaborated with connoisseurs and sommeliers.

If you are a professional wine collector or a wine lover, don't hesitate to give us your suggestions, we will be happy to improve our classification in order to meet your expectations.

QR Codes for a direct access to your collections

Qr code

Maybe QR codes don't mean anything to you or you are not familiar with this technology: they are new generation barcodes allowing you to access a web page in a few moments by simply scanning it with a cell phone or a tablet.

You can now create a QR Code on your object cards or on your collections. You can then stick this QR Code on your tray or window to easily access or share your collection.

This feature is also very useful for a professional who would like to make easily accessible item cards when attending a fair or on a flea market.

Some changes in your collection galleries

Nombre d'objets

From now on the number of objects in a collection is visible on the top right of the cover photos in the collection galleries. We've added number counters to help you find your way through your objects or look at other collectors' numbers of objects.

Improved comment section

commentaires

As you probably already know it is possible to comment on an object, an article or a collection. Until now, one mistake in a comment and you had to delete everything and write your comment again because of a simple typo... But this time is now over!

We have improved the comment section and it is now editable. You can now edit your text without deleting it. It is also possible to insert images and clickable links in the comments. It makes it easy to share your impressions, questions and congratulations.

An image format that saves you time

We have integrated a brand new image format on CollecOnline: WebP.

If you are not familiar with WebP, it is an image format that was developed by Google to save you time when opening a web page. Reduced in size by up to 30% without being altered, the images keep their quality while being lighter than a JPEG or a PNG.

In addition, this format has several compression modes: lossy or lossless and with or without transparency.

New blog posts

The CollecOnline blog is a space of expression at your disposal. It is a place of exchange that is open to all CollecOnline users. There you can find associations as well as private collectors who regularly put forward their articles, reflections, or works.

Since April a great number of publications have been posted. The Cercle Lyonnais de Numismatique, an association gathering Numismatic enthusiasts (collectors as well as researchers), has been very active. We also salute MGDCA for its very interesting article on the Loches coins. If you want to do some reading, click here to visit the blog.

De nouveaux articles

We take this opportunity to announce that new articles are in preparation for the CollecOnline blog. We are working on new document guides that will allow you to showcase your collection, your objects and therefore your passion.

Thanks to teamwork and a lot of elbow grease, we are able to provide these new features and improvements! We hope you will find these changes useful.

Stay tuned as we have more surprises in store for you.

The CollecOnline team.
