Extremely rare and desirable reverse type struck only at Ticinum during the famous 3rd issue celebrating the victorious campaign against the Germans in 278 A.D.

This particular variant from the officina "P" is only the 2nd example of this type known (the other being in Hungarian National Musem from the same pair of dies - see Hiland/Oliva no. 744).

Unusual and very attractive portait of the finest style.

Virtually as struck, with stunning details and full original silvering.

A true gem of the highest numismatic interest. One of the highlihts of my Probus collection!

Collection : 04 Probus - Ticinum
