Extremely rare variant with no mintmarks. This is the only example of this exact type in my database. Possibly an unicum!
Probus antoninianii without mintmarks were either trial coins or (much more often) donativa coins distributed by the emperor himself to various officials during his visit to a particular city (during the emperor's Adventvs). Their attribution to a given mint is based on careful analysis of the coin's style and die links.
